The first round of matches takes place today and this stage last year saw the likes of James Wade, Gary Anderson, Luke Littler and Stephen Bunting all progress to the second round. However, both Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall went out at this stage 12 months ago, with Humphries losing 10-8 to the Netherlands' Gian van Veen and Aspinall going out thanks to a 10-6 loss to van Veen's fellow countryman Wessel Nijman
