Michael Portillo visits Andalucía's Atlantic coast to explore Cádiz, Europe's oldest inhabited city, arriving on board a 10-metre tall ship used by the Mexican navy to train its officer cadets. He learns about the history of the city from local guide Pilar and then heads inland to Jerez, taking part in a sherry tasting competition and learning about flamenco guitar. During his journey he experiences two major festivals - the finale of the annual Tall Ships race and the annual sherry grape harvest festival
