England looked to be heading out of the tournament against Spain at this stage in 2022, but an 84th-minute equaliser from Ella Toone and Fay Stanway's extra-time strike gave the Lionesses a 2-1 win, and they went on to lift the trophy. Spain could be involved in this match should they have finished second in a group containing Portugal, Belgium and Italy, but they were fancied to top the table, having won the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Nations League since that setback against Sarina Wiegman's side three years ago
