Ralph Greig faces his first day of training as a harbour pilot and is put through a tough test on the simulator ahead of the real thing. Ex-sailor Ellen Haughland fancies Ralph's old job of vessel traffic services controller - and if successful she will be Aberdeen's first woman in that role, while local barmaid Val Morrison finds herself serving a rowdy troop of morris dancers. Out at sea, the crew of the Bibby Sapphire braces itself for a force 10 storm
