Season 1 Episode 1 of 2

The most extreme weather events to hit the UK, from devastating floods and ferocious storms to deep-freeze blizzards and record-breaking heat. The first of two parts looks at the whiteout chaos of 2018's Beast from the East, the storm surge of 2013 that battered the east coast, and the terrifying flash floods that overwhelmed the Cornish village of Boscastle in 2004. There is also the storm of 1987 that left a trail of destruction in its wake, the lethal smog that choked London in 1952 and the rare but violent tornadoes that struck Birmingham in 2005

Britain's Worst Weather Disasters airs on 5 HD at 6:30 PM, Sunday 1 February. (Subtitles, new.)
