He meets a farmer whose stolen animals cost him thousands and observes officers trialling a bold new operation to stop thieves in their tracks. In East Yorkshire, metal detectorists are suspected of stealing historic treasures under the cover of darkness, while in Hertfordshire, farmers and police fight back against illegal fly-tipping on farmland - a problem reaching epidemic proportions, choking the countryside and leaving landowners to foot the bill
