In October, 2010, 18-year-old Niall Dorr was found unconscious on Castle Road in Dundalk, Co Louth. He had severe head injuries and was later declared dead in hospital. It was the first case in the border town for newly promoted Detective Inspector Pat Marry. Here he recalls how he meticulously built the case, scouring the town for evidence and witnesses.
