How Jane Austen became one of the most well-known and critically acclaimed novelists of the 19th century. At the age of 17, Jane lives in Steventon, Hampshire where her father owns a library of over 500 books. Immersed in the classics, history and the emerging genre of the novel, she decides to tell her own stories
