Jordan v Algeria

Jordan v Algeria (Kick-off 4.00am). Semra Hunter presents coverage of the Group J match at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in the USA, as the two teams meet for just the fourth time, and a first in 22 years. Jordan finished second in AFC third-round qualifying Group B behind South Korea to reach their first-ever World Cup. Four victories and four draws in 10 games were enough to earn 16 points and finish one point clear of Iraq to avoid going into the fourth round of qualifying and confirm their place at these finals. Algeria reached their fifth World Cup finals with more ease after finishing top of their qualifying group, ending up seven points clear of nearest competitors Uganda. They won eight of their 10 games, losing only once, to Guinea in a surprise 2-1 defeat all the way back in June 2024. Despite that setback in the third round of group fixtures, they went on to score 24 goals and concede just eight as they made it to the finals for the first time since 2014. At that event they finished second in their group behind Belgium on four points before losing 2-1 to Germany in the last 16. With analysis from Karen Carney and Jobi McAnuff, and commentary by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward
