After one of the wettest Julys in recent times, the contractors are struggling, grabbing any short break in the weather they can, to try get their second cut silage and any ground work done. Even if the day is fine the ground conditions are often too wet to allow the machines in and when they have a break in the weather they are under pressure to complete the task before the next rain comes, leading to long days and nights and frustrated contractors
