Julia sails to the rugged island of South Georgia, which rises from the South Atlantic and has an extraordinary abundance of wildlife and a haunting human history. Landing on Salisbury Plain, Julia navigates to reach a vast colony of more than 100,000 king penguins that crowd the beach, as well as the whaling station that became polar explorer Ernest Shackleton's salvation, and sees some of the largest seals in the world
