Nichols and Stevens investigate the murder of a woman who was found lying in the street, apparently strangled to death, and with a concealed wound on her cheek. When tests reveal traces of alcohol and Valium in her system, Stevens contemplates the plausibility of a medical connection, a suspicion that is soon confirmed when a woman with a recently treated hand injury is found murdered in exactly the same manner. Their investigation then heads to the local community hospital where the victims were last seen alive. Starring Jeff Goldblum and Saffron Burrows
