Eddie is horrified to discover that many of his cows have TB and will have to be culled. Learning that the badgers roaming the farm are responsible, he sets about wiping them out - but the situation takes a turn for the worse when Fay also contracts the disease and is rushed to hospital. Meanwhile, there are further romantic entanglements for Nick and Kerry, as she becomes attracted to the new schoolteacher and he turns on the charm with a female police officer who comes to arrest him for serving alcohol to under-age drinkers
