Office worker Craig Waterman meets Austin Carmichael, a local TV weatherman who has not made any friends yet and possesses the natural easy-going charm that Craig so obviously lacks. The men become mainstays in each other's lives, but Craig is ill-equipped for polite social interactions and his behaviour becomes increasingly unhinged.
