Inside the World of Body Donors

Real human bodies are used every day by UK universities to teach students and medical professionals about anatomy. Go behind the scenes at Cardiff University to meet the staff and students who work with body donors every day. Meet the office manager whose job includes embalming bodies, the student inspired to become a doctor after losing her best friend to cancer, and the lecturer who thinks she has the best job in the world. Together, they take us behind the scenes to find out what happens to our bodies if we donate them to education. And have you ever wondered where the bodies come from? Meet the families whose loved ones donated their own bodies to the cause after they died. Find out why they did it and what it’s like for the people they left behind.

On The Front Line airs on BBC News HD at 1:30 AM, Thursday 20 November. (Subtitles, repeat.)
