Day Seven BBC1 - 2

Clare Balding presents further coverage of day seven from the All England Club, where men's and ladies' fourth-round singles matches are scheduled to continue. Having been in fine form in early rounds, home favourite Emma Raducanu's tournament came to a surprising end when she was beaten 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 by qualifier Lulu Sun, who became the first woman from New Zealand to reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon in the Open era. It was the furthest Raducanu had progressed in a Grand Slam tournament since winning the 2021 US Open and her joint-best showing at Wimbledon, but she will have gone into this year's event hoping to fare better having recently regained top spot in the British rankings from Katie Boulter. Second seed Coco Gauff's tournament also came to a shock end on Centre Court when she was defeated 6-4, 6-3 by American compatriot Emma Navarro. It was the third time Gauff had exited Wimbledon in round four and she has never progressed further than that, but she recently won her second Grand Slam title in the French Open so will have gone into this year's tournament full of confidence. Elsewhere, another American excelled on No. 2 Court, with Tommy Paul overcoming Spain's 2019 semi-finalist Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 7-6, 6-2, but a maiden Grand Slam final continued to elude him when he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals
