The Poplar midwives and medics return for the first of a two-part festive special ahead of a new series next year. Fred and Violet fly out to Hong Kong to visit Derek - only to notice a large building has collapsed. Back in London, news of the disaster reaches Nonnatus house and an emergency rescue mission to Kowloon is hastily launched. But Derek warns the medics to take care, as the densely populated city is home to Triad gangs operating in the area
