Librarian sleuth Aurora Teagarden inherits a house when her friend unexpectedly dies and discovers her new home has a skull hidden in a window seat. She sets out to discover who the victim was, but finds herself thrown into a troubling murder mystery and a street full of suspicious neighbours.
