The second heat begins with Basic to Brilliant, as contenders turn an everyday ingredient into a dish worthy of an apron. In this heat, choices include beans, chicken and spinach. The strongest cooks go through to the next round, while the others face the Mystery Box, cooking a dish utilising chicken, peppers and apples. The heat reaches a crescendo as the remaining contestants prepare a sumptuous two-course menu for the judges, plus three successful contenders from past series - 2015 champion Simon Wood, 2017 champion Dr Saliha Mahmood Ahmed and 2015 finalist Tony Wood
