Musical theatre star Layton Williams traces his ancestry. Though born in Bury, Greater Manchester, he finds generations of Londoners in his family and is delighted to find they walked the same streets as him. There's also military history in his clan, as Layton discovers his great-great-grandfather William joined up when he was just 17, a year after the First World War ended, and was a Remount Rider, training horses for the battlefield in France. Turning to his Jamaican heritage, the musical theatre star is shocked to see his likely three-times great-grandfather listed as a child slave
