The journalist finds out what the future holds for Europe in a world where it can no longer fully rely on America, beginning by visiting Italy and Germany to explore how they're changing in a turbulent new world. In the Tuscan hills, she joins Italian paratroopers on a Nato exercise with 1,500 soldiers from seven different countries, then she heads to Germany, where she visits a Volkswagen car factory to learn how they're being affected by both Russia and China. And in Germany's far south, not far from Munich, she meets a family who are building a house with a nuclear bunker
