Europe continued their dominant first morning at the 2023 event as they managed to pick up two and a half points in the fourballs session in Rome. Rory McIlroy and Matthew Fitzpatrick helped themselves to 5 & 3 victory, while the other three games were halved, leaving Europe leading 6.5 points to 1.5 points at the end of the first day
