Carlos Alcaraz won the title here 12 months ago by beating the 2024 champion Jannik Sinner 6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4, lifting this trophy for the second time in his career. At just 22 years and 125 days old the Spaniard became the youngest male player to win a sixth Grand Slam title overall, beating a record previously held by Swedish great Mats Wilander, who was aged 24 years and 20 days when he accomplished the same record
