Situated at the southern tip of the isle of Harris, the town of Leverburgh boasts a small, but healthy fishing industry, a ferry port, plus constant sea traffic to the numerous islands in the sound of Harris. The area is remote, and for the small population, a little hope is now on the horizon - for the first time in 60 years a housing scheme is underway. There are many daily challenges to overcome living in a remote location, but the strong sense of community in Leverburgh ensures that strengths are combined for the wider benefit
