Explorer Levison Wood and historian Alex Bescoby set out on an urgent mission to honour the last surviving veterans of the Burma Campaign - the brutal, often forgotten chapter of the Second World War fought in the jungles of Asia. Levison's own grandfather fought in Burma - now Myanmar - while Alex spent almost a decade living and working in Myanmar. Together they retrace the battlefields that shaped the fate of the war, uncovering the huge but overlooked contribution of Commonwealth soldiers
