All nine children return home for Christmas. Clemmy has her hands full nursing a premature calf, while Clive has fixed up an ancient contraption to cook the festive roast. When an owl is sighted in one of the barns, the family comes up with a plan to encourage more birds to roost there. Miles rigs up a night vision system to keep an eye on their guest, while Sidney traps pests to lure it out
