Stephen Bunting raced to a 4-0 lead over Peter Wright in the third quarter-final match 12 months ago putting him on the cusp of whitewash victory, but the Scot fought back to claim the next two sets before losing 5-2. That match was followed by Luke Littler also claiming a 5-2 win to progress to the semi-finals, with the fan favourite beating Nathan Aspinall
