Season 1 Episode 2 of 2

How soccer in the USA would experience a second coming, with the likes of David Beckham heading to States, after the boom and bust of the 1980s. By the late 1970s, the NASL was continuing to attract the biggest footballing stars in the world, with new innovations making the sport attractive to its American audience. However, the good times didn't last, and the NASL was in a dire financial situation by the mid-1980s, seeing the end of the league, as the money and interest dried up. However, the college system helped fuel the rise of the US Women's National Team, whose World Cup and Olympic triumphs transformed women's football globally, while Beckham's arrival in MLS in 2007 reignited the men's game before Lionel Messi took Inter Miami and MLS to new heights in 2023
