Part one of two. A youth suspected of a violent assault on three youngsters is hit by a lorry and killed while running away from Callum and Ben, and the grieving mother supplies an alibi for her son. Jacob is assigned as family liaison officer to the three teenagers and eventually the identification of a second suspect casts doubt on who was the aggressor and who was innocent. Julia Ford guest stars
