First Quarter-Final
Coverage of the first quarter-final (Kick-off 9.00pm), which takes place at Boston Stadium in the USA. Croatia and Brazil faced each other in the corresponding match in Qatar four years ago, with the former being indebted to their goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic as they booked their place in the semi-finals. Despite the game being goalless at the end of 90 minutes, Brazil were the dominant side for much of the contest and forced Livakovic into 11 saves to keep his side in the contest, and it was Neymar who finally broke the deadlock in stoppage time of the first half of extra-time, as he netted his 77th goal in international football. Croatia didn't manage to register a shot on target of their own until the final three minutes of extra time when Bruno Petkovic equalised via a shot deflected off the leg of Brazilian defender Marquinhos. When the contest turned to penalties to decide the outcome, Livakovic came to the rescue once again, saving the spot kick of Rodrygo, before the unfortunate Marquinhos hit the post, while Croatia scored all four of their attempts to progress
