Jack is taken hostage while interviewing a suspect, but somehow manages to talk his way out of trouble - quite an achievement for a man whose lack of tact is legendary. Having experienced what it's like to look down a gun barrel, he barges into a nearby Army camp where investigators are trying to solve a soldier's murder, but finds his help isn't appreciated.
