The story of 'Goody' Glover, an Irishwoman in exile in Puritan Boston as the witch hunts in Europe were spreading across the Atlantic. An indentured servant and a native Irish speaker, she was viewed with suspicion amongst English-speaking Puritans. She was accused of witchcraft after defending herself against an accusation of theft. Her public trial and execution was a warning to all women who spoke out, and the case was a forerunner for the Salem Witch trails four years later
