A jet-skier crashes on to the shore and is discovered to be dead, having been shot through the chest. At HQ, Hetty shows the team surveillance footage of the shooting and identifies the victim as Daniel Su, an engineer who defected from North Korea and was working for the US government on a highly classified research project. Sam and Callen visit the victim's apartment, where they find the body of a woman on the floor
