JJ Spaun of America held a one-stroke lead over South Africa's Thriston Lawrence after carding a four-under 66 at this stage last year in Pennsylvania. He went on to win the title, having never previously finished in the top 20 at a Major, with Scotland's Robert MacIntyre finishing in second place
