Irish comedian Brendan O'Carroll, best known as his alter ego Mrs Brown and star of the BBC sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys, tries to find out the truth about his grandfather's murder, and attempts to uncover the identities of the men responsible. Shopkeeper Peter O'Carroll was killed in October 1920 at the height of the Irish War of Independence, and the Dublin-born actor begins his journey of discovery with only a newspaper article from the time and the words 'shot during the curfew' from Peter's gravestone
