Jeanette Kwakye presents further coverage of the second session on day one of the biennial event, held this year at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo. The first medals to be awarded on the track in this session come in the women's 10,000m at 1.30, which saw a clean sweep for Ethiopia two years ago in Budapest, with Gudaf Tsegay, Letesenbet Gidey and Ejgayehu Taye first, second and third respectively. Finals also take place in the men's shot put from 1.10 and mixed 4x400m relay at 2.20, as well as heats in the men's 100m from 10.55.
