Part one of a two-part episode, which features the first appearance of Emilia Fox as Dr Nikki Alexander. The first case she tackles involves the death of a jockey crushed by his mount during a race. The plot thickens when two of the horse's owners are killed in a helicopter crash and evidence emerges that both the horse and the pilot were drugged. James Wilby and Sylvestra Le Touzel guest star
