The ATP Japan Open. Coverage of day one of the ATP 500 event, a hard-court tournament at Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo. Spain's Carlos Alcaraz came out on top in last year's men's singles event as he beat American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 in the final. Alcaraz became the first Spaniard to win the men's title since Rafael Nadal won here back in 2010, the third player from Spain to win here since the turn of the century
