Day Eight BBC1 - 2

Clare Balding presents further coverage of day eight of the tournament from the All England Club, featuring more men's and ladies' fourth-round singles matches. Novak Djokovic showed he is still a force to be reckoned with at this stage last year on Centre Court when, at the age of 37, he comfortably overcame a man 16 years his junior in 15th seed Holger Rune, prevailing 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. The Serbian eventually lost to Carlos Alcaraz for the second year running in the 2024 final and has been unable to extend on his record 24 Grand Slam titles since winning the 2023 US Open. He has now slipped to number six in the world rankings, some way behind the top two of Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, but it would still be a shock if he was not in contention at this stage, as he has at least reached the final here every year since 2017, and on four further occasions between 2011 and 2015

Wimbledon 2025 airs on BBC One West at 7:00 PM, Monday 7 July. (Live, subtitles.)
