Antiques Roadshow Christmas Special: Toys and Childhood

Fiona Bruce visits the Museum of the Home, in central London, for a special edition on children's toys. From a 4,000-year-old pull-along toy to one of the first personal computer consoles, the team explores how toys and notions of childhood have changed over time. The experts bring along some of their own childhood playthings, including Mark Smith's teddy, Bunny Campione's original soft toy bunny, which she is named after, and a bottle rocket that Ronnie Archer-Morgan played with as a child in the 1950s. The programme also catches up with toy collector Jonathan Ross, finding out what sparked his passion for all things plastic and why he loves Japanese action figures

Antiques Roadshow: Toys and Childhood airs on BBC One East Midlands at 5:55 PM, Sunday 14 December. (Subtitles, repeat.)
