Visual artist and horticulturalist Mairi Gillies gardens on a Hebridean island, encountering its unique weather challenges, as she creates a unique growing space on a limited budget, while keeping her carbon footprint as low as possible. Mairi's busy getting plants in the ground. She travels to Skye to learn about extracting dyes from local plants aided by experts Kirsty and Simon, and visits Nicola McBride who's turned her flower garden into a business
