Gerwyn Price was the victorious player here last year, edging past Damon Heta and Gerwyn Price before saving his best performance for the showpiece match, where he thrashed current world champion Luke Littler 8-1. However, Littler will have expected to have progressed from the first round and be in a position to make amends for that defeat, while the likes of Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting and Chris Dobey will also have hoped to be involved in the second day's play
