A fishing boat in Salcombe goes up in flames with the skipper still aboard, while on the Isle of Sheppey, the lifeboat crew race to the aid of a man stuck in freezing mud in the middle of the night. A dog falls into the river Thames, creating an emergency for the Chiswick crew when the owner dives in to save it - and soon needs rescuing herself
