Wheeler and her new partner Zach Nichols (Jeff Goldblum joining the cast) investigate when an aspiring MC is killed and one of his fellow musicians is found dead at the bottom of a lift shaft just before he was due to play an important gig. The detectives discover the second victim's replacement is extremely ambitious, but also that the manager of the building where the murdered men lived also manages other artists and may have been jealous of their success
