Clare Island's community centre is at the heart of the island, a multipurpose space that caters for all occasions from deaths, births, communions, workouts and marriages - and everything in between. But manager Maureen Pinder says the building cannot cope with the demands placed upon it and the island is losing revenue as a result. So the team set to work to improve the centre and what it offers, in the hope of attracting young people back to the island during the busy tourist season
