Season 1 Episode 1 of 2

Crofter Keith MacDonald returns to South America, a continent he lived and worked in a decade ago, on a journey to uncover the story of the Scots who emigrated there over a century earlier, including one of his own ancestors. He begins by travelling through Chilean Patagonia, joining a traditional sheep drive across dramatic landscapes, learning to tame wild horses, attempting to capture a wild bull, and venturing into Torres del Paine National Park to track elusive pumas and observe baby guanacos up close. His journey culminates in Punta Arenas, where he reconnects with relatives in the far south of the continent

Patagonia - Cuairt gu Crioch na Cruinne airs on BBC Alba at 9:00 PM, Wednesday 18 June. (New, series, subtitles.)
