Part one of two. A 2002 profile of the acclaimed playwright, exploring the inspiration for his work and visiting the rooms where he wrote in an attempt to identify links between the atmosphere there and the content of his plays. Beginning in Pinter's west London study, the film observes his previous places of work, including the terraced house where he grew up, a theatre dressing room and an apartment lounge.
