DS Walsh hiding a secret identity that explains everything, fans convinced

Moira, Bear and Paddy are all being pressured by her
Carena Crawford

Emmerdale police detective DS Walsh is absolutely obsessed with nailing half the village for crimes they didn’t commit – yet hasn’t bothered to go after the real bad guys at all.

The poor policing aside, we’re all wondering why exactly Walsh has got it in for Moira, Bear, Paddy and Dylan. What is her problem?

Well, some fans have now come up with a rather convincing theory that explains everything…

DS Walsh wants Moira to be guilty in Emmerdale

No matter what evidence is put in front of her to the contrary, DS Walsh is convinced Moira is guilty. There is compelling evidence – Anya’s body was wrapped up in a blanket with Moira’s DNA on, Celia and Anya were both found buried on her land, and Moira was in business with Celia. Not to mention the ID documents that Robert planted at Moira’s house.

But there are also a number of holes in Walsh’s case – Anya died of an untreated infection, Moira’s fingerprints wouldn’t be on the documents and she wouldn’t be stupid enough to bury the bodies on her own land. Also, April, Dylan and Bear could verify she had nothing to do with it, if Walsh bothered to, you know, ask.

Never mind the evidence punching her in the face, Walsh clearly has some sort of unspoken vendetta against Moira and wants her to go down.

And now Bear’s in for it too!

It’s got even worse with Bear. He has clearly been in no fit state to undergo questioning and yet she’s pushed and pushed and confused him with her own theories.

Now he’s only hours out of a secure mental health unit and she’s been grilling him again, putting words into his mouth and forcing him into a confession.

He eventually did snap on Monday March 16 and lied he killed Ray on purpose. He said he acted alone to protect Paddy’s name and he would do it again if he had the chance.

It has got Bear in a lot of trouble. His manslaughter charge has been upgraded to murder which carries a mandatory life sentence. And tonight (Tuesday March 17) Walsh will finally nail Paddy and Dylan too.

She’s been after them as accessories for ages and would clearly not stop until she got them thrown into jail.

However when it came to investigating Ray and Celia and their crimes, she did little to nothing. She seems totally uninterested in tracking down the rest of the forced workers to corroborate Bear and Moira’s stories, instead she is focused solely on blaming the victims.

Fans want to know what’s going on with Walsh

It hasn’t escaped viewers’ notice that Walsh is laser focused on getting innocent people sent down. And they are getting very suspicious this isn’t proper police work at play here…

“Anyone else have the feeling that THAT copper is only interested in pinning everything on Moira? She isn’t interested in anyone else. WHY??” questioned one on social media.

Others asked the same: “Why is [bleep] detective completely going after Moira??” and, “Walsh is so obnoxiously dead-set on pinning everything on Moira. So annoying to watch.”

Is DS Walsh working for Joe Tate in Emmerdale?

Delving deeper into the subject, some fans believe they’ve worked it out: Walsh is a dirty copper being paid by none-other than Joe Tate.

“Why is this detective so fixated on Moira?” queried one viewer before adding: “I think she’s working for Joe, what else could it be?”

Another had the same thought: “She is dead set on Moira, could Joe be paying her, dirty copper?”

“They have DS Walsh acting like some 1950’s bent cop that’s trying to fit up someone for her crooked boss,” raged a third. “Whoever thought this up needs charged with crimes against good TV.”

Someone else thought she might be involved with Graham – he had police help when faking his own death, after all. “Wonder if she is in cahoots with Graham?” they asked.

Is DS Walsh connected to Ray and Celia?

And now another theory has emerged – that DS Walsh could be related to Ray or even in cahoots with Ceila and Ray.

“I think she is Ray’s mun or a relative,” shared one on our Facebook page.

Another queried: “DS Walsh is/was a good friend of Celia’s, maybe?” A third added: “”She’s in on it.”

“Yeah she’s a bent cop, probably in charge of the drugs in this storyline,” suggested another.

It seems fans are fixated on there being another big boss of the drugs operation still to be uncovered. Earlier this month they were convinced it was Dr Todd.

So is DS Walsh really crooked? Is she up to something sinister? Or is she just desperate to prove her case at all costs?
