‘Is John capable of killing Mackenzie? Absolutely…’ Lawrence Robb gives chilling warning over show future as John feud explodes
Things get out of hand at John and Aaron’s stag do
John Sugden has Mackenzie Boyd firmly in his sights in Emmerdale next week. And Mack is about to push him too far. So could he live – or not live – to regret it?
As the feud between the two men escalates, Lawrence Robb, who plays Mack, has told Emmerdale Insider and other media, that John could absolutely turn serial killer and target Mackenzie.

Mack and John’s feud gets dangerous
With John lording it around as he prepares for his heroism award ceremony, Mackenzie is getting more and more annoyed by him. When John misses the ceremony to help Aaron with a mental health crisis, Tracy and Victoria throw an impromptu bash in the Woolpack for him. But Mack is fuming to have been left out.
Jealous of John and Aaron’s relationship, Mackenzie begins to plot. At the stag do things take a turn when the men square up to each other and a warning is issued.
Lawrence explained: “Mackenzie says to John: ‘I see through you, nobody else does, but when they do it’s all going to come tumbling down for you’ and then he walks off.”
After that, Mack sneaks off and John pursues him – is Mack really aware of the danger he’s in?
“I don’t think Mackenzie has seen the threat that John is at this stage. If there is a warning it’s not heeded by Mackenzie. If anything it spurs him on,” Lawrence confessed.
“I don’t think anyone really knows how dangerous John is and I think if Mackenzie did, he probably would tread more carefully.”

John to kill Mackenzie in Emmerdale?
Things take a turn at the stag do when Mackenzie outdoes John in the paintballing, Lawrence shared. “It puts even more wind in Mackenzie’s sails that John used to be in the army. That spurs him on and that spurs John’s actions on to try and get one back on Mackenzie.”
So, just how far could John go? “The thing is with John, he obviously killed Nate, but he didn’t do it intentionally,” said Lawrence. “Could he go all the way with Mackenzie? I absolutely do think so.
“If John were to fall into that spiral of being a serial killer, Mackenzie would be right at the top of that list. So on that basis, yeah, Mackenzie’s life is in jeopardy.”

Mackenzie flashforwards still to come in Emmerdale
But for those wondering if this is related to the flashforward we say in January, the answer is no. Although we don’t know exactly what that’s about, we saw Mack running to – or from – something through the woods.
Show boss Laura Shaw teased that the flashforward is linked to a big story coming up for Aaron and Mack into the autumn. And Lawrence added: “I’ve not filmed anything yet. I think that is intrinsically linked to the big story Laura has mentioned about Mackenzie and Aaron, but that’s all I know at the minute.”
But will John still be around to get involved in that one?
