Emmerdale's Joe serious

The Emmerdale Joe Tate whodunnit kicks off tonight (Thursday, May 8), but a new fan theory predicts an unofficial suspect is the true culprit.

In the official suspect line-up, we have nine suspects; Noah, Kerry, Cain, Ruby, Caleb, Charity, Billy, Dawn and Clemmie.

But, could somebody else strike instead? Could it be someone we’d least expect?

The Joe Tate whodunnit in Emmerdale

This evening, Lydia’s surprise 50th birthday party will be held at Home Farm and it seems as though most of the village will be in attendance. We don’t blame them, Lydia’s one of the most-liked people in the village, after all…

But, the spotlight won’t be on the birthday girl, but will instead be on Emmerdale’s current villain – Joe Tate.

With many villagers at the party having a strong vendetta against Joe (and for good reason!), most people would prefer him not to be around during the celebrations… Or, around on any occasion, come to think of it.

And, by the end of the evening, Joe finds himself lying on the ground after being pushed out of the Home Farm window.

But, the question is? Whodunnit? And, will Joe survive this brutal fall?

Emmerdale fan theory predicts Manpreet is behind Joe whodunnit

Fans will probably remember that Manpreet was blackmailed by Joe into breaking the professional code and sharing Caleb’s test results with him. Although, how was she meant to know that Joe would then go on to steal Caleb’s kidney?

Now, a few fans on X think that Joe’s blackmailing gives Manpreet great motive to push him out of that luxurious window.

One fan commented: “Interesting that these are the official suspects yet Manpreet isn’t in the line up, which is odd as she does have a motive – so she could be the killer. She does confide in Liam next week about Joe using her to gain access to Caleb’s blood sample.”

Another person wrote: “Manpreet should be a suspect in pushing Joe instead of making her a lost desperado without friends or family.”

A third viewer added: “I wondered if they’d have Manpreet find out somehow that he was behind the ‘blackmail’ saga and the reason for the dodgy blood test procurement. I guess they could only fit so many suspects on the promo picture though.”

But, could Manpreet be the culprit? Well, her sister Meena was a serial killer… Could she have inherited the murderous family gene?
